A small-batch rye whiskey from the famous wheated straight bourbon brand Rebel Yell. Made with rye, corn and malted barley. Rebel Yell is aiming to please a crowd and to do so inoffensively.
Binny's "Rebel Yell Small Batch Rye is a wonderful young rye sourced from Indiana... Young rye can be quite nice, and this is no exception. The nose holds big bold rye dill flavors with wintergreen and dark sugars. On the taste, the youthful rye reveals bold spice, citrus, vanilla tannins and a touch of caramel. The finish is pleasant with wintergreen and spice fading slowly."
Nose - Light caramel and mellow spice.
Mouth - Easy drinking, much spicier in taste than nose. Young, medium-bodied.
Finish - It finishes easily, even a little eagerly. Sweet and spicy.
Rebel Yell Distillery is a brand of wheated Kentucky Straight Bourbon whiskey produced at Heaven Hill's Bernheim distillery in Louisville, Kentucky.
Rebel Yell Bourbon is made with wheat, corn and malted barley, according to recipes dating back to the early years of the W.L. Weller company. It is bottled at 40 percent a.b.v., while the Small Batch Reserve is slightly higher. The portfolio also includes a Small Batch Rye, an American Whiskey blend of Bourbon and Rye, as well as whiskeys flavored with ginger, root beer, and occasionally honey and cherry.
Rebel Yell was a favourite drink of Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones. Billy Idol's 1983 song "Rebel Yell" was inspired by drinking the Bourbon with the band.
