GLENDULLAN AGED 19 YEARS ~ SPEYSIDE, SCOTLAND
85/100 Whisky Base
Master of Malt "Rewarding and well-balanced with plenty of good distillery character."
The second batch of Glendullan single malt that has been independently bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company
Nose - Orange sherbet, brown sugar and oaky vanilla bring a refined sweetness to hints of cut grass and dry barley. A subtle whiff of earthy smoke lingers underneath.
Palate - Fresh orchard fruit, blackcurrants and hints of sharp orange zest lead. Among savoury oak there’s a little hint of anise and liquorice and a thick drizzle of Manuka honey.
Finish - In a long and succulent finish there’s a flicker of white pepper spice.
Glendullan was founded in 1897, by William Williams and Sons. Five years later the whisky was to become the favourite tipple of Edward VII. Today, single malt Scotch whisky from Glendullan is released in part for export. Diageo includes it as one of their three Singletons, the other two being Glen Ord and Dufftown. Whilst Singletons Dufftown and Ord were released for the Asian and European markets respectively, the Singleton of Glendullan is destined for the US.
