Nose - The nose is very pungent and full. Notes of sour citrus develop with rich peat smoke. Hints of peppered oak and notes of sea spray pounding stones and a little kelp.
Palate - The palate is thick and full. Creamy manuka honey and lemon juice, notes of peppered oak and spice, a little butter perhaps and plenty of dry wood.
Finish - The finish is long with black pepper and oak.
The oldest working distillery on the Isle of Skye, Talisker has enjoyed a long and very successful history. It has been the recipient of numerous accolades and medals from prestigious national and international competitions and boasts an incredible core range that includes Talisker 10 Year Old, a gold medal winner at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2017 and 'Best Islands Single Malt' at the 2017 World Whiskies Awards, as well as Talisker 18 Year Old, which won ‘Best Single Malt In The World' at the World Whiskies Awards 2007.
To celebrate the distillery’s 175th anniversary in 2005, a no age statement commemorative single malt bottling was released. Two years later in 2007, Talisker 18 year old won ‘Best Single Malt In The World 2007’ at the World Whiskies Awards. Since 2008, the range has vastly expanded with a no age statement quartet and even a 40-year-old expression. Talisker is now one of Diageo’s most distinguished single malt brands.
