The Benrinnes distillery is located high on Ben Rinnes Mountain. Originally the supplies for the distillery were taken up the mountain by horse and cart. The emblem on bottles of Benrinnes whisky can vary from a blackcock, male grouse or a local resident of the surrounding moors.
The water used in Benrinnes whisky is drawn from springs on Ben Rinnes mountain that pass through granite, over peat and moss and they are finally filtered on gravel beds of the Rowantree and Scurran burns. The majority of whisky made at Benrinnes is used for blended whisky however some single malts are available.
