ARRAN 14Y ~ ISLANDS, SCOTLAND
In the 2010 release from Arran, the 14-year-old replaces the previous benchmark, the 12. This was finished in fresh bourbon and sherry hogsheads 2 years before it was bottled. The result is a sweet, fruity Arran with all that wonderful malt we love!
Nose - Gives more on fresh-cut fruits, fragrant honey extract, toffee, and sourish tart passion fruit. Despite soft, still with plenty of muscle and solid structure.
Palate - Compote of sweet fruits in orange and zesty pear juice, drizzle with an abundance of honey. Sphere of chocolate coating.
Finish - Medium, husky hue, spirit-y dry sparred with the fruity sweetness, well rounded.
Isle of Arran Distillers is one of the few remaining independent distilleries in Scotland. They are based at Lochranza on the Isle of Arran, one of the most beautiful and famous in Scotland which lies off the west coast between Ayrshire and Kintyre.
